Before You Load Up
Some items are banned from the garbage pit, need a separate recycling or hazardous-waste area, or aren’t accepted at all. Sort these out before you go — or hand the whole pile to us and skip the sorting:

Getting There
The Renton Recycling & Transfer Station sits just off NE 4th St, a few minutes east of downtown Renton and the I-405 corridor. Here’s how a self-haul trip actually goes:
Tie down and cover everything before you leave. King County charges a $25 fee for any load that arrives unsecured — a loose tarp can cost you.
You’re charged by weight, with a $40.25 minimum. Staff direct you to the tipping floor; you unload your own vehicle by hand.
Weekends and late afternoons back up. If your load is over 25 ft of vehicle-plus-trailer, the Renton station can’t take you — you’d be rerouted.
Do the Math
The transfer-station fee is only part of the bill. Add up the truck you don’t own, the gas, the fee, the possible unsecured-load charge, and your Saturday standing in line — and the “free” dump run isn’t. Here’s the honest comparison:
Simple
Send a picture of the pile to (253) 722-4285. We give you a firm, all-in price — no station trip to price it.
Same-day and next-day slots are usually open across Renton and the Valley.
Our crew loads it, hauls it, and takes it to the right place — you never see the transfer station.

Where It Goes
A trip to the Renton station means everything goes in one pit. We work differently: reusable furniture and household goods go to charitable partners for a second life, appliances and metal go to recyclers, and e-waste goes to certified electronics recyclers. Because we sort loads right on the truck, only what genuinely can’t be reused or recycled reaches the transfer station.
That’s the part a self-haul trip can’t do for you — see our eco-friendly practices »
