No fuel surcharges, no stair or carry fees, no other per-item fees. Stairs, weight and a long carry move a job within its range; they are never a separate charge. The price we give you on site already includes everything above, and it is the price you pay.
Load it right: tarp and tie down
A load that is not tied down or covered pays an extra fee on top of the disposal fee. A tarp and a couple of straps save it.

How much does it cost to dump at the Renton transfer station?
King County charges a $40.25 minimum per trip, for up to 320 lbs, then by weight at $243.38 per ton for self-haul garbage. On Jan 1, 2027 those rise to $43.50 and $264.01. Rates change periodically, so confirm current fees on the King County disposal-fees page. Prefer to skip it? We haul for a $99 minimum, all-in.
Do I have to cover my load?
Yes. King County adds a $25 fee for any load that arrives unsecured or untarped, per King County Code 10.12.040. Tie down and cover everything before you leave — or let us load and haul it so it’s not your problem.
What are the Renton transfer station hours?
Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm; Saturday and Sunday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Weekends and late afternoons are the busiest — expect a line.
What won’t the Renton station take?
Corrugated cardboard has to be sorted out for recycling. King County stations also refuse C&D debris in dump trucks or dump trailers, major appliances, asbestos without clearance, computers and monitors, mercury-containing fluorescent bulbs and tubes, and hazardous waste. We handle appliances, e-waste, metal, and mixed loads and route each to the right place.
Where do I take paint and chemicals in Renton?
Not to the Renton station; it has no hazardous waste drop-off. King County’s sites are Factoria in Bellevue (closed Mondays) and South County in Algona (closed Wednesdays), free for King County households. We also take paint, at $10 a gallon.
Is it cheaper to haul it myself or hire 99 Junk Removal?
For a small single item it can be close. Add truck rental, gas, the $40.25 King County minimum, a possible $25 unsecured-load fee, sorting your own recyclables, and the 4:30pm weekday close at South County.
